December 25, 2007 - MERRY CHRISTMAS! We miss
you and hope you have a wonderful day. Here is a vid
and some pics of our Christmas eve and morning.
December 18, 2007 - Caleb just passed
his 7-month birthday. He can stand up, roll over, eat food, babble and scream,
bang things together, and last Sunday he had his first (tiny bite of a )
communion wafer. For an infant, he's the total package. And now that the
semester has ended mommy and daddy get a couple of weeks with mister total
package. We'll be home for Christmas and then off to Maryland and Michigan.
Until then we have decorations up, cards ready to be mailed, and presents
bought - time to put our feet up and relax, right? Probably not.Enjoy a pre-holiday video of Cale standing (no sound).
December 5, 2007 - What a crazy
couple of weeks. First Knoxville, then Philadelphia, and then Thanksgiving.
Jason's sisters joined us for Thursday dinner (Jason made turkey) and then
Tricia's parents and Jason's mom and grandmother (i.e., Great Mother)
joined us for Cale's baptism and Christmas tree
hunting - we had a wonderful time. Now we're in end-of-semester crunch and
preparing for the holidays. It'll be our very first time waking up on
Christmas morning as a family of 3 in our new house. Exciting! And Cale is sure to be ready - he's growing so fast we
don't know what to do. He talks all the time. His favorite thing to say is
"da". Sometimes he says two
"das" in a row for "dada". His first word? Jason thinks
so. Anyway, here are some pics from the big
weekend!
November 20, 2007 - We had a great
visit to Philadelphia. Cale met his aunt Jill and
cousins Julian and Justin for the first time (see pics)
and saw his grandma and grandpa again. He rode his first subway, went for
his first swim, and touched his first live snake. Tricia connected with
lots of old friends and Jason visited Temple U and UPenn
(and had a cheesesteak).
November 13, 2007 - Today Cale is 6 months!! For his birthday he got mashed
carrots for the first time (not a great gift for most people, but he seemed
to enjoy them). This weekend we're headed to see grandma, grandpa, aunt
Jill, and cousins Justin and Julian in Philadelphia. It'll be Cale's second trip away from home and firsttime seeing his cousins. It'll be the 2nd
of 3 busy weekends. This past weekend Jason was in Knoxville, TN with
friends for the Arkansas/Tennessee football game (see pic)
and next weekend family will be visiting us for Thanksgiving and Cale's baptism. Check out the pics
of us in the yard this week.
November 3, 2007 - It's going to be
a busy November for us. Jason is headed to Knoxville, TN with friends,
we're all headed to Philadelphia to see Trish's family, and then Caleb will
be baptized. Also, congrats to Trish, she was named the most outstanding
teacher at her school! Check out some recent videos of Cale's
first real meal, Cale sitting all by himself, and
Cale playing with Emma - he's growing so fast!
October 31, 2007 - Happy Halloween!!
Cale had his first trick-or-treats today and tonight.
He wore a pumpkin costume and got lots of candy (but seemed to prefer the
wrapper instead of the actual candy). He's enjoying school, growing super
fast, and settling into his new house (as are mommy and daddy). We have
weekend plans to go tailgating on campus for the big Bama/LSU
game on Saturday. Here's a pic of Cale in his pumpkin costume and one in his new hat
(that we bought twice).
October 13, 2007 - Today is Caleb's
5-month birthday! It hardly seems possible. His plans are to go to the
library (for some reading time), take a nap, maybe eat some solid food (for
the first time ever!), and watch football with daddy. It'll be the first
normal weekend in a month. The move is now complete and though some stuff
is still in boxes, the majority of stuff is out and in place - it's
starting to feel like home. Here are some recent pics
of Cale:
September 30, 2007 - We've moved!! We
are very happy with the new house and also very tired. Jason's mom and
sisters visited to help lessen the stress. Here's one of the last pics of Cale at the old
house.
September 16, 2007 - Moving day is
fast approaching (10 days), so things are understandably stressful. We did
however manage to take a break yesterday and attend the Alabama/Arkansas
game. It was a great time (and a great game). See the pics
of us tailgating on campus and Bama's
game-winning touchdown:
September 6, 2007 - Things have been
very, very busy for us over the past few weeks. Everyone has started school
(Trish at BSC, Jason at UA, and Cale at UA). In
fact, Caleb is the youngest student enrolled on the UA campus! We've also
sold a house and bought a house. We decided to buy a house closer to Cale's school. We move in 3 weeks. This evening we went
to the first BSC football game in nearly 70 years (it was Cale's first game ever!). See the pics:
August 19, 2007 - We had a nice
visit with grandma and grandpa. We ate lots of food and had a blastplaying "Are you smarter than a 5th
grade?". The consensus was that we were all about as smart as 5th
graders. Caleb showed off the whole visit, laughing and singing. See the
latest videos (with sound!!):
August 13, 2007 - A big day for
Caleb! Today was his 3 month birthday AND his first day of school. And his
grandma and grandpa are coming to visit later this week. See the pics:

PS - Our website is
now 1 year old. Thanks for checking in on the last year of our lives!

On a sad note,
Jason's mom's dog Soul died last week. He was 14 (he was named Soul because
his brother was named Heart). I'll always remember Soul's split tongue from
licking a razor. Here's a pic of Soul from last
week.
July 21, 2007 - Cale enjoyed the visit from his grandmother and great
grandmother (see pics). So did we - it was such a
relaxing visit. Just what we needed with the fall semester approaching
fast.
(4 generations)
July 15, 2007 - Wow, time flies. Cale just celebrated his 2 month birthday on the 13th
and then, today, his 9 week birthday
(we're going to count both for a while because we're new parents and that's
the kind of thing that new parents do!). We're all beginning to get into a
routine and, with fall semesters approaching, it's comforting to know that
the routine is about to be 100% useless. Good news though, we are thrilled
with Cale's preschool program (he starts in
mid-August). Though, it's in another town so we'll likely be moving
sometime this fall to be closer (nothing like adding the stress of moving
to the stress of being new parents!) More news, tomorrow we get visits from
Scoma and great grandmother (meeting Cale for the 1st time). Lots and lots of things
happening, but when Cale smiles we smile and
nothing else seems to matter. Check out these pics
and you'll understand.
