June 29, 2008 - We just returned
from a week in Maryland. We visited Trish's parents, sister, and nephews
("Hi Julian and Justin"). Cale rode a horse (both real and
merry-go-round) and saw the ocean. We had a wonderful visit and are now
looking forward to a relaxing week at home and a visit from Scoma and aunt
Joc. Here are a couple of pics:
June 13, 2008 - Caleb turned 13
months today. Wow. He's running and talking non-stop. His new favorite
thing to do is say "bye" (pronounced "baaaiiieeee" with
a little twang). This past month he danced with his aunt Joc, took a boat
trip, went swimming in a pool, and spent his first day with babysitters
while mommy and daddy celebrated their 3rd anniversary (June 11). Here are
some recent pics:
May 18, 2008 - Check out the
pics and vids of Tricia's family celebrating Caleb's first birthday.
May 13, 2008 - HAPPY 1ST
BIRTHDAY CALEB!
May 11, 2008 - Check out the
pics and vids of Jason's family celebrating Caleb's first birthday.
May 2, 2008 - Can you believe that
Caleb turn 1 year old in just over a week?Wow, what a fast year! He's doing everything he's supposed to
including walking and talking (a little) - he says "ball" and
"book" (his new favorite thing to do is read) and he says
"mommy", "daddy", and "doggy". It's very
exciting! Here are a few recent vids.
April 16, 2008 - Caleb's 11 month
birthday was this past weekend. We can't believe it. We celebrated by
walking around a furniture store looking for a couch. Big fun, right? Well
it was for him - the store was like an amusement park and he spent an hour
walking and climbing and (occasionally) falling. He's walking better and
better, he's waving (see video), and he's saying his first words (see
video, sort of). His vocabulary now consists of the words dog and dad
(which sound almost the same) and sometimes ball.
April 3, 2008 - Caleb can walk
all by himself!! Earlier this week he took his first (unassisted) steps. As
you can see from the videos, he's already a natural.
March 25, 2008 - Happy (belated)
Easter! We had a relaxing Easter Sunday. Cale woke up to an Easter basket
(he got a stuffed duck from Scoma and a dump truck from Grandma and
Grandpa), put on his Easter outfit (see above), and then went on an Easter
egg hunt at church. This year, Easter fell right in the middle of Jason and
Cale and Tricia's spring breaks so daddy and son spent all last week at
home together. This week Jason is headed to Vancouver so mommy and son will
get some quality time. See some recent pics below!
March 9, 2008 - Cale turns 10
months on Thursday and this is what we know: he has red hair, he's
independent, he's curious, and he loves to be doing stuff. Within the next
few weeks the "stuff" he does will likely take a big giant step
forward (literally) because he's on the verge of walking. He can already walk with support (see
previous videos) and as of this weekend he can now stand without support
(see latest video).
March 2, 2008 - At 9 and 1/2
months Cale has become a regular world traveler (Montana, Michigan,
Maryland, Philadelphia). This weekend it was back to Maryland with Trish
for a few days with Grandpa, Grandma, aunt Jill, and Cousins Julian and
Justin. Check out some of the pics.
February 21, 2008 - Caleb turned 9
months last week . . . but seems even older. He eats a ton. He crawls,
scoots and walks (with help) every chance he gets (see vid). He loves
trucks and balls. He climbs stairs (a flight of 17 stairs this evening). He
bites (were working on this one). He laughs. He fake laughs. He fake cries
(we're working on this, too). And most importantly, he got to show off all
his new grown up abilities to Scoma last week during her visit (see pics).
February 4, 2008 - Here are a few
pics and a vid of Cale. He's growing so fast it's hard to keep up. He's
pointing, recognizing a few words, crawling, semi-walking, feeding himself
food, drinking water out of a cup, etc. Let's just say he's doing
everything an almost 9-month old should be doing, including wearing out his
mommy and daddy.
January 23, 2008 - Cale had his
8-month birthday last week (he was a solid 19 pounds and 27.5 inches -
almost time for a new car seat). At
that time he was crawling a few feet and then sitting up. Well, now he's
crawling from room to room all over the house. He has his own style of
crawling (left knee down, right leg out and pushing) but it definitely
works. He's also quickly deciding that walking is where the real money is.
See the vids of Cale doing everything he can to be upright.
January 8, 2008 - Happy New Year!!
It's hard to believe that 2007 has come and gone. It was a exciting year
for us, we became a family with Cale and we settled into a new community.
We can only hope that 2008 will be just as exciting. It certainly started
off that way visiting Maryland and Michigan (where Cale saw snow for the
first time) in a whirlwind week and meeting lots of new relatives along the
way. Then, when we returned home, Cale decided it was high time he
mobilized . . . see the video below and you'll know what we mean! Nothing
is safe! (see pics from the holidays too).
